A breathtaking light show, dedicated to the imminent Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, has illuminated Moscow, just two weeks before hundreds of thousands of people flock to Russia to witness the ultimate football showdown.

The facade of the Manege exhibition center in the heart of Moscow, adjacent to the iconic Red Square, turned into an installation reflecting spectacular scenes on Friday. Images change from a starry sky to a mountain of balls, before a glowing comet shoots down football stars to the beat of a sound to incite and inspire the spirit of the tournament, which will be watched by billions across the world.

“All these are incarnations of football and the emotions that it evokes. They are transmitted by the language of metaphors and abstractions and are enhanced by the music,” the show’s author and producer Vladimir Demekhin said.

The ten-minute, breathtaking light show will be aired every day between 10-11pm up until June 10. The World Cup kicks off on June 14 and will run through July 15.
