WWE WrestleMania 35: Ronda Rousey set to take center stage in wrestling's biggest show

Ronda Rousey has already made history as the first female athlete to defend a world title in the UFC. Now she's looking to do the same in the main event of WrestleMania.

Female athletes have never featured in the main event of wrestling's annual jamboree - the biggest show in the world of sports entertainment - until now.

That's because Rousey, along with WWE rivals Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, will form the triple-header main event of WrestleMania 35 at the MetLife Stadium in New York City on Sunday night.

The famous stadium, home to the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets franchises, will be packed to the rafters for the huge event, as UFC Hall of Famer Rousey takes on seven-time WWE champion Flair and 2019 Women's Royal Rumble winner - and two-time SmackDown Women's Champion - Lynch in a showdown that is fully deserving of its main event billing.

The match tops a stacked card of clashes that look set to thrill the fans in New York.

Former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar puts his belt on the line against the 2019 Royal Rumble winner Seth Rollins, while WWE Champion Daniel Bryan will look to successfully defend his belt against longtime fan favorite Kofi Kingston.

Former champion Roman Reigns, who stepped away from the ring to battle leukemia, returns to the big stage to face Scotland's Drew McIntyre, while former Evolution stablemates Triple H and Batista will go head to head in a 'no holds barred' match, with the added stipulation that defeat for Triple H will force him to retire from in-ring competition.
