Paris Saint-Germain forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was guilty of one of the most shocking misses in football history when he somehow failed to score with the ball on the opposition goal line against Strasbourg on Sunday.
With the scores level at 1-1 in the 28th minute in the Ligue 1 clash, Choupo-Moting somehow contrived to turn the ball onto the post and away from goal, despite being stood on the goal line as Christopher Nkunku's shot headed toward him.
The physics-defying miss from the forward has been widely ridiculed online as the worst in the history of the game.
Choupo-Moting, 30, had earlier put his side ahead before Nuno da Costa equalized for Strasbourg and Anthony Goncalves handed the visitors a shock lead.
Presnel Kimpembe later leveled for PSG, although the draw meant the Parisians were denied the three points that would have wrapped up the Ligue 1 title
"I wondered if I was offside and it all happened very fast. I touched the ball, it hit the post and, well, it's a real shame because the ball was going in," former Stoke City striker Choupo-Moting told Canal+ after the game. "Sorry about that.”
