WATCH: Golfer Bryson DeChambeau sinks stunning hole-in-one at Masters

US golfer Bryson DeChambeau sank his first ever hole-in-one on Sunday as he aced the 16th hole at Augusta National in the final round of the Masters.

DeChambeau admitted earlier in the week that he had never had an ace in his playing career, after coming agonizingly close on the same hole on Thursday.

The 25-year-old rectified that in spectacular fashion with his shot on Sunday, landing the ball around 15 yards from the pin before it span perfectly past his playing partner’s ball and dropped into the hole.

DeChambeau was ecstatic as he hugged his caddy and took high fives from other members of the playing group.

The ace was part of a mixed opening to the final round for the American, as he double-bogeyed his first two holes of the day before hitting back with two birdies in the space of four holes before the magic on the 16th.

He had started the tournament in blistering fashion, carding an opening round six-under-par 66 for a share of the lead on Thursday, only to fall back with scores of 75 and 73 on Friday and Saturday.

At the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, Tiger Woods was aiming for his first major in more than a decade, as he started two shots behind the leader, Italy’s Francesco Molinari.
