Light it up: Crazy scenes as Greek football fans celebrate first league title in 34 years (VIDEO)
Greek football club PAOK Thessaloniki clinched their first league title in 34 years on Sunday amid an incredible backdrop provided by thousands of flare-waving home fans at Toumba Stadium.
PAOK hammered Levadiakos 5-0 to give them an unassailable lead over Olympiakos at the top of the table, sealing their first league title since 1985 and third in total.
Fans of the Greek club are famed for their pyrotechnics and did not disappoint on Sunday, turning the club’s home into a flare-filled cauldron before, during and after the game in Thessaloniki.

PAOK – who are unbeaten in the league this season – have the chance to claim a domestic double as they lead Asteris Tripolis 2-0 after the first leg of their Greek Cup semi-final.
They are likely to meet AEK Athens in the final, who hold a similar lead in their semi-final tie with Lamia.
Drama has followed PAOK in recent seasons. In March of last year, club president Ivan Savvidis was banned from football stadiums for three years after storming onto the pitch with a gun in his belt, in protest at a refereeing decision.

In August, Russian journalists in attendance to cover the PAOK versus Spartak Moscow game in the Europa League said they were attacked by a number of fans at Toumba Stadium.
