'Fine margins': Sergio Aguero's razor-close finish fires Manchester City to top of Premier League
Manchester City have returned to the top spot in the English Premier League with a sole second half strike from Sergio Aguero enough to claim three points and pile further pressure on Liverpool with just two league games to go.
Aguero's goal on 63 minutes was enough to outdo a dogged Burnley defence at Turf Moor but it didn't come without a helping of high drama in Lancashire.
After the same Burnley backline which frustrated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday had turned up eager for work it was beginning to look as though Manchester City might be set to drop points for the first time in more than 10 games but, as pulses raised on Merseyside and as he has done so many times before, Sergio Aguero proved to be City's saviour - though it didn't come without a slice of good fortune.

With Burnley camped on the periphery of their 18-yard box for the majority of the second half to this point, a Bernardo Silva center found its way to the Argentina marksman who prodded a shot goalwards. Goalkeeper Tom Heaton took the sting out of the shot but it careened towards the goal only for Matt Lowton to smash it clear.
However, Lady Luck was wearing a blue jersey on Sunday as referee Paul Tierney pinged to award a goal after it had been adjudged that the ball had landed 29.59 mm over the line. It marks the fifth season running in which Aguero has scored 20 or more domestic league goals.
The win, their 14th EPL victory on the bounce, places Pep Guardiola's side on 92 points, one point ahead of Liverpool and win both teams having just two games remaining on their calendars.
Sergio Aguero 20 goals for 5 seasons running! If Carlsberg did strikers, he'd probably be the best striker in the world!

Kun Aguero's goal adjudged to be 2.951cm over the line. The cun, a traditional Chinese unit of measurement, equated to exactly 2.951cm before the year 565.Just let that sink in for a moment.https://t.co/RlXL3Lftww
