Meet Elina Mitrofanova, Russia’s most beautiful hockey player (PHOTOS)
The Russian Women’s Hockey League (WHL) has chosen the most beautiful female athlete of the year, awarding the title to 27-year-old Agidel player Elina Mitrofanova.
The beauty contest “Miss Beautiful League” was organized by the WHL in cooperation with Bauer, a maker of hockey equipment.
Mitrofanova and six other contenders who took part in the competition were judged and ranked by a jury panel that included WHL representatives, sports journalists, a KHL photographer and a Lokomotiv Yaroslavl player.
The judges considered contestants’ Instagram pages before watching pre-recorded presentation videos created by the female players.
Mitrofanova who received the majority of votes and was named the winner of the contest. Last season, the hockey player collected 30 points in 36 games, including seven points in the play-off matches.
