'The worst I've ever seen': Luka Jovic's failed knee-slide goal celebration mocked on social media
Eintracht Frankfurt's in-form striker Luka Jovic netted his ninth UEFA Europa League goal of the season in his side's 1-1 draw with Chelsea, but some fans preferred to critique his goal celebration instead.
The 21-year-old Serbian striker produced a stunning diving header to give the Bundesliga side a 23rd-minute lead against Chelsea in their semi-final first-leg tie.
But his attempted knee-slide celebration didn't go well for the 21-year-old, as the pitch proved a little too dry and a little too grippy for the ecstatic striker as he tumbled over in a rather less graceful move than he'd hoped for when he wheeled away from goal.

Tweeter Alex Lloyd posted: "Jovic may have scored but his attempted knee slide is the worst I've ever seen."

Sports betting writer Raphielle Johnson saw something familiar in the Frankfurt man's less-than-successful celebration, tweeting: "Pretty sure Luka Jovic didn't mean to replicate the FIFA 19 "failed knee slide" celebration, but he pulled it off."

And Chelsea fan Ryan Chesser commented: "Jovic wherever you go (hopefully it's @ChelseaFC) you really need to work on that knee slide broski."

Despite his failed celebration, Jovic's strike against Chelsea once again highlighted the young striker's immense promise on the big stage.
And football statisticians at Opta highlighted his superb record in Europe this season by tweeting the stat that he had opened the scoring in more Europa League games than any other player this season.
5 - No player has scored the opening goal in this @EuropaLeague season as often as Luka #Jovic (5 times). Key. #SGECHEpic.twitter.com/QohierBGUr

With nine goals in the Europa League this season and a host of clubs thought to be watching him very closely ahead of a potential summer swoop, Jovic could find himself the subject of a big-money bid from one of the continent's big guns in the off-season.

Before then, he hopes to take his Europa League tally for the season into double figures to help his side reach this year's final in Baku later this month.
But regardless of whether or not Frankfurt make it to the final, Jovic is certainly one to keep a very close eye on in the coming months.
