A video emerged online showing the NBA’s tallest player, Kristaps Porzingis, arguing with police in the Latvian city of Liepaja after a bar conflict, which left the Dallas Mavericks forward with a bloodied face.
The 2.21-meter-tall basketball player is seen nursing a bloody forehead in the footage and seems to be on edge, as he pushes a woman aside while shouting angrily at a police officer, who asks him to “please” calm down.
It’s currently unclear what happened at the bar, with local media speculating that Porzingis might’ve been hit with a beer glass on the head. There were also claims that the athlete could’ve broken his arm in the subsequent brawl.
TMZ reported, citing witnesses, that Porzingis was jumped by a group of Russian men, who were allegedly unhappy about his recent move from the New York Knicks to Dallas.
The 23-year-old has been out of action for more than a year due to a knee injury, but the Mavericks still snapped up the talented attacker earlier this year. Porzingis was staying in his hometown of Liepaja on the Baltic Sea during his recovery.
