Brazilian futsal referee suffers fatal heart attack during match (VIDEO)
Brazilian referee Isildo Fabiano Bianchi has died after having a fatal heart attack on the pitch during a futsal match between two local sides, Sao Carlos and Taubate, in Sao Paulo.
The 44-year-old referee unexpectedly collapsed on the ground in front of players who immediately rushed to help him. Bianchi was taken off the pitch on a stretcher before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
Despite an attempted resuscitation by medics the referee died in hospital. The Brazilian Futsal League (PFL) expressed condolences to the referee’s family.

“The LPF (Paulista Futsal League) deeply regrets the death of referee Isildo Fabiano Bianchi da Silva, 44, who unfortunately died on Friday night (10) during the match between Intelli and Taubaté in São Paulo Carlos (SP), validated by the first phase of the Paulista Cup,” the league said in a statement.
“All necessary medical procedures were carried out in hospital, but unfortunately the referee could not be revived.”
