‘Where is the GOAT?’: Ronaldo fans SEETHING as Golden Boot winner left out of Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament
Fans of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo are up in arms after the Portuguese Euro 2020 Golden Boot winner was omitted from the competition's Team of the Tournament released on Tuesday, and have taken to social media to vent.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was in fantastic form at the competition, which he opened with a late brace in a 3-0 win against Hungary before a packed Puskas Arena filled by 60,000 punters.
Portugal were then felled 4-2 by Germany in one of the games of the tournament, yet Ronaldo scored an early opener and followed this up with a double-penalty brace against reigning world champions France.
Unfortunately for Ronaldo and Co, the holders could not defend their own 2016 crown and were eliminated via a 1-0 loss against Belgium in the last 16.

Yet Ronaldo's five-goal haul saw him handed the Euro 2020 Golden Boot as despite finishing level with Czech sensation Patrik Schick, the Portuguese star also registered one assist during the competition, giving him the edge in a tie-breaker.
In all-time terms, Ronaldo's goals saw him surpass Michel Platini's record in the competition and put him level with international football's record marksman Ali Daei on 109 successful strikes.
Despite this, though, the 36-year-old's absence has been glaring in UEFA's official Team of the Tournament released in the days following Italy's win over England in the final at Wembley.
On the front line, he has missed out to the likes of Juventus teammate Federico Chiesa, Romelu Lukaku and Raheem Sterling - with the development causing his fans to take to social media and express their disappointment.

"Where is Golden Boot winner Cristiano Ronaldo?," asked the self-proclaimed 'AngriestCR7Fan'.
"I Repeat: Where is Golden Boot winner Cristiano Ronaldo?"

"It’s a team based on who had the best tournament. not who scored the most penalties, pal," came one reply to a similar outburst, which also asked where the "GOAT" was.
"The one who dropped 1/10 performances salvaged by a penalty in almost all [of the] games? Why should he be there?," probed someone else along similar lines.

"Ronaldo is the top scorer and he’s missing out. This is a joke," another loyal fan scoffed.
"WTF, Ronaldo was robbed," it was also said.
Worshippers of generational rival Lionel Messi, who has just won the Copa America with Argentina while finishing as Player of the Tournament and its top scorer, while also in a competition best XI, relished the chance to take potshots at the ex-Real Madrid star too.

But at least Golden Boot challenger Patrik Schick of the Czech Republic paid his respects to Ronaldo.
"This time you were luckier," he wrote on Instagram.
"Congrats to my idol," Schick added, while tagging Ronaldo and dropping a goat emoji next to his message.
But not everyone is happy with that development either.
Patrick Schick scored five goals, one with his left, one with his right, one was a header and one from the halfway line. Ronaldo also scored five goals, and even though three came from the penalty spot, he gets awarded the Euro 2020 golden boot because he registered one assist.
