British cyclist Mark Cavendish believes he can succeed at both this year's Tour de France and the Olympics, which will be held just six days later.

On Wednesday, the reigning world road race champion was enjoying a photo-shoot with his new Team Sky. They have just named their 23-man squad for the 2012 season. Also in is their other star rider Bradley Wiggins.Cavendish won the sprinters' green jersey at last year's Tour de France, and hopes to repeat that success. But he also thinks he'll have something left in the tank for the Olympic road race in London, which is being held less than a week after the Tour ends. "I'm going to gear my whole season around July and go well the whole of July. I've got three weeks of the Tour de France, six days later Olympic road race in London, and I want to do well at both,” he said, adding: “One, obviously, for my professional team, for Sky, and one for national pride, for representing Great Britain, and doing the nation proud in the Olympic Games.”
