The best mixed martial arts fighter on the planet, Fedor Emelianenko, is aiming to return to action early next year.
And the 34-year-old, who has kept a low profile since his sole loss to Fabricio Werdum in June, is planning to get back at his Brazilian foe, eventually. The Last Emperor's manager told RT more about what the immediate future holds for his client.”We’re planning a comeback fight at the end of January. We don’t know who the opponent may be, but we only have Fabricio Werdum in our sight. Werdum also wants the fight to happen, but won’t be ready to fight for April or May. So we are planning to have another one before that,” Vadim Finkelstein, Emelianenko's manager, said. The loss to Werdum was the first defeat Emelianenko has suffered in ten years, and the second in his whole career. The Russian has so far collected 31 wins in the ring. After the June bout, the Brazilian said he is ready for a return match with Emelianenko, whom he called the greatest fighter in the world.
