Moscow’s World Championship to say new word in rhythmic gymnastics
Russia rhythmic gymnastics team coach Irina Viner has said a new word in the sport will be said during next week’s World Championships in Moscow.
Russia is a leading nation in the sport, but has not hosted the event before.
More than 50 countries will take part in the event at the Olympisky arena, with Russia's Evgenia Kanaeva defending her all-round world title.
However, there will be tough competition from the likes of Italy and Japan. In addition to this, fans will also get a glimpse of former greats.
“We are now working on a show program, which will include performances from the present and former stars of our sport. I hope it will be really beautiful and it also can become a new word in rhythmic gymnastics, because some of these elements may be included in the official program later,” Irina Viner, Team Russia's head coach, said.
