Russia defended their title against Brazil in the final of the World Women's Volleyball Championship on Sunday.
Vladimir Kuzyutkin's team brushed past ten other squads to reach the final with perfect record. And on Sunday evening proved they are currently the best in the world.The Russians scored a 3:2 (21:25, 25:17, 20:25, 25:14, 15:11) victory over the Beijing Olympic gold medalists in Japan.The team’s biggest star, Ekaterina Gamova, earned the tournament’s MVP award, while Tatiana Kosheleva was named The Best Offensive Player. Russia, also five-time winners as the former USSR, grabbed the title at the previous championship in 2006, which was also held in Japan.
