The infamous clothing-optional protest group FEMEN has attacked the Henri Delaunay Trophy, commonly known as the Euro Cup, which is awarded to the winner of the European Football Championship. As always, the girls were defiantly topless.

The famous trophy was on display in the Ukrainian city of Dnepropetrovsk ahead of the Euro 2012 kick off in June. The women, reportedly French journalist Emma Aels and longtime group member Inna Shevchenko, removed their upper garments and knocked the trophy to the ground in protest. The women claimed the Euro 2012 football tournament will provide an unwelcome boost to the sexual tourism industry in Ukraine.“Platini’s Euro-roaster was taken down together with the pedestal it was attached to after FEMEN attacked it in Kiev,” the activists’ official website reports.

The pair was arrested, charged with causing public disorder and released later, Interfax news agency reports. The FEMEN statement said Dnipropetrovsk police also arrested a French female photographer and a female Polish reporter, confiscating their video and audio recording equipment in the process.A Similar incident took place in Kiev on May 12, when other FEMEN activists pounced on the trophy. Each woman was subsequently fined the equivalent of $40.
