Firefighters battle ‘severe’ Birmingham scrapyard blaze (VIDEO)
Around 70 firefighters have been sent to tackle a mammoth blaze at a scrapyard in Birmingham, authorities report.
Scores of firefighters, 12 fire engines, two aerial platforms and a digger have been sent to the site in Saltley, Birmingham, West Midlands Fire Service said.
They were called to the scene just after 14:00 BST. Residents report seeing smoke rising from some distance away.

People living in the local area have been advised to close all doors and windows as a precaution.
Firefighters believe the blaze could involve some 800 tons of metal, mixed plastics and rubber.
