Thames Monster? ‘Nessie’ speculation rife as mysterious creature spotted in London (VIDEO, POLL)
A mysterious creature spotted in London’s River Thames has led to feverish speculation among social media users wondering if the Loch Ness Monster is vacationing in the British capital.
The baffling sight was captured on video from a cable car in Greenwich and shows the “beast” swimming near the O2 arena, rising to the surface before vanishing again.
The shaky footage was recorded by Penn Plate, who wondered if he was witnessing a whale or submarine.
Social media users, however, had more creative suggestions.
Two Glasgow lads here discussing the 'Nessie' in the Thames. One said dead serious, "Couldnae be it. Loch Ness is a Loch. Couldnae get oot."

An increased number of dolphins, porpoises and seals have been spotted in the Thames over recent years, as well as - albeit less commonly - whale sightings.
Looking at the Thames video my guess is that it's a whale, similar to the East coast beachings over the last few months.

Apparently Nessie's been spotted in the Thames. I mean we've had whales etc in the river around the city before but okay lol
