Online tributes are pouring in for Celine Dookhran, the 19-year-old whose body was found mutilated and stuffed inside a freezer at a £1.5 million London property.
People took to Facebook and Twitter to mourn the “beautiful” young woman’s brutal death.
One Facebook user said: “RIP Celine. Such a beautiful, intelligent soul.”
“RIP Celine, you were very beautiful and you will never be forgotten,” another wrote.
Mujahid Arshid, 33, and Vincent Tappu, 28, have been charged with a range of offenses over the incident, including kidnap, rape, murder and attempted murder.
A second woman, who has not been named, reportedly escaped a similar fate and was treated for slash wounds to her neck. She was also reportedly kidnapped and raped.
Dookhran’s body was found in the six-bedroom property in Kingston-upon-Thames on July 19.
It has been suggested by prosecutors that Dookhran, an Indian Muslim, was murdered because she was planning to marry a man of Arab Muslim descent. The family allegedly did not approve of the relationship.
Prosecutor Binita Roscoe has said the women were attacked by men in balaclavas wielding a Taser. They were then wrapped in dust sheets and taken to the location where Dookhran was found.
Describing the survivor’s ordeal, Roscoe said: “Her face and mouth were covered in duct tape. Her hands were tied with cable ties and her feet were tied with rope.
“She believes a sock was placed in her mouth. She had heard the deceased who was in the shower screaming. The deceased was brought down tied up.”
The two men appeared for a preliminary hearing at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.
Neither man entered a plea.
