Infamous murderer Charles Manson is expected to soon tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Afton “Star” Burton, the bride-to-be admitted this week.

"Y'all can know that it's true," the 26-year-old Illinois woman told the Associated Press on Monday. "It's going to happen."

The AP reported this week that the newswire’s journalists have viewed a marriage license between the two issued on November 7 and have subsequently learned that the couple is planning to hold a small ceremony in the coming weeks at Corcoran State Prison in California where Manson has lived for a quarter-century.

Manson, 80, is currently serving a life sentence for his role in the August 1969 murders of seven individuals, including actress Sharon Tate, carried out by a group of devout followers; he was convicted of murder and conspiracy in 1971 and has been denied parole a dozen times since then.

Slayings aside, however, Burton — who has dated Manson for years and regularly visits him at Corcoran and calls him daily on the phone— says she’s serious about her relationship with the renowned criminal.

"I love him," she told the AP. "I'm with him. There's all kinds of things."

"I'm completely with him, and he's completely with me. It's what I was born for, you know. I don't know what else to say,” she told CNN earlier this year.

Reached for comment by Fox News on Monday this week, Burton said she’s waiting on officials at Corcoran to finalize paperwork that will pave the way for Manson to get married in the coming weeks, likely at an inmate visiting room where up to 10 non-inmates may be allowed to attend.

Once they tie the knot, however, little will change: according to the AP, the inmate is not entitled to conjugal visits with the future Mrs. Manson on account of not currently having any parole hearings scheduled. Nevertheless, Burton told AP journalists that the marriage will allow her closer access to information about her husband that even his own family cannot get.

"There's certain things next of kin can do," Burton said.

Meanwhile, Burton’s own family has voiced concerns about their own kin. "I think it's insane," her sister, Debra, told AP. "What would any young woman in her right mind want with an 80-year-old man?"
