Attorney General Loretta Lynch expressed her condemnation of the violence int he community

A day of action is planned in Ferguson, following a week-end of protests.

US Attorney General Loretta Lynch published in her Twitter microblog words of condemnation of the violence in Ferguson.

Last Friday, in an interview to NBC News Lynch said "I think it opened the eyes of America and frankly, the world, to what many minorities are saying when they talk about feeling a level of disrespect and a lack of inclusion in their own government," commenting on the last year's tragic events in Ferguson.

The victim of the police shooting at the Ferguson protest was identified by his father as 18-year-old Tyrone Harris Jr., of St. Louis, who was “real close” to Michael Brown.

About 20 shots apparently shocked Ferguson's acting police chief, Andre Anderson, who was telling CNN reporters that police “just want to be as patient as possible.”

As the march carried on, one man was injured by police shooting. The local police chief said that he is in a "critical, unstable" condition in hospital and undergoing surgery. He added that several people were detained during the protests, with no specification of their number.

The silent march of hundreds of people in Ferguson was interrupted by approximately six gunshots. However, the police said that the shooting was unrelated to the memorial event.

Two white doves were released above the spot where Michael Brown died a year ago at the end of several minutes of silence, representing the four and a half hour's time that the teenager's body lay in the sreet after his death, during the protest in Ferguson.

Three rallies, including a die-in, were held in New York City to protest police brutality and commemorate the anniversary of Michael Brown’s death. People were chanting “All lives will matter when black lives matter!” and held banners reading “Black Lives Matter.”

The protesters at the Saturday’s peaceful rally in Ferguson could have a taste of a special roasted pig. It was dressed as a police officer, in a reference to officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed an unarmed black teen a year ago. Only a pig’s head was left, and at nightfall protesters took it to the police department building, a meeting point for hundreds of people.

Michael Brown’s father, who led the march, told the people who gathered at the site of his son’s death that he sees “things moving in a positive way, but I don’t see enough,” as cited by The Guardian. “I hurt every day,” Brown added. “I have to stay moving, going, running, just to keep me from going insane.”

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Ferguson to commemorate the death of Michael Brown in a peaceful demonstration. The demonstrators were mostly black people, and one of the participants told RT’s video agency Ruptly that “We talk out of control and out of rage because you people have pushed us to this point where the only way we can express ourselves is by letting you know how we feel.”

The Black Lives Matter movement was triggered by a tragic death of an unarmed black teenager, who was killed by a white officer in Ferguson, Missouri, last August. As the year passed, the country was shattered by waves of unrest that exposed the tensions between the police and the public, fighting for social and racial justice and against police brutality.
