Texas Southern University in Houston is on lockdown, following reports that two people were shot at a student housing complex. A TSU freshman has been killed, university officials said. It is the second shooting at a US university today.
This is also the second shooting at TSU this week. On Wednesday evening a 25-year-old male was shot in the abdomen. The shooter in that incident was identified as Darios Tramain Crayton Scott.
Friday’s shooting took place around 11:30 local time at the Courtyard Apartments complex, local media reported.
Three "persons of interest" have been detained by Houston Police as of 2 pm local time, according to university spokeswoman Eva Pickens. It was not clear if they were students, or connected to the university.
