Clown arrested for drunk driving in Alabama (PHOTOS)

Clown arrested for drunk driving in Alabama (PHOTOS)

In an incident sure to reinforce the stereotype that clowns love their alcohol, a man dressed as one was arrested this weekend in the US state of Alabama for drunk driving.

Joel Sloan was the only clown to come out of his not-so-hilarious Ford SUV when he was arrested late Saturday night.

A local officer pulled over the suspect after noticing haphazard driving, only to discover a man fully dressed as a clown, according to the police report.

Sloan reportedly told the officer he had a few drinks at a local restaurant, but gave no explanation for the clown costume.

In a comment on his mug shot, one Facebook user asks another, “Does this look like the unicycle guy from Waffle House?!”

Perhaps he had a rough day in work and took it out on a few beers, but stupidly ignored some sound advice from Helen Mirren.

Either way this doesn’t help the reputation of the struggling clown industry, mired in controversy including multiple incidents of scarring children for life.
