Hacking collective Anonymous has vowed “total war” against Donald Trump, making a “call to arms” by summoning fellow hacktivists to unite with them in an attack against all of his websites on April Fool’s Day.
In a resurgence of its #OpTrump campaign, the group released a new video addressing the controversial Republican candidate directly.
“Dear Donald Trump, we have been watching you for a long time and what we see is deeply disturbing,” a masked figure declares in customary Anonymous fashion.
“You have shocked the entire planet with your appalling actions and ideals,” he continues.
The focus is then turned to hacktivists and citizens: “This is a call to arms...we need you to shut down his websites, research and expose what he doesn’t want the public to know. We need you to dismantle his campaign and sabotage his brand.”
The clip ends with a message for Trump “This is not a warning, this is a declaration of total war. Donald Trump – it is too late to expect us.”
Earlier this month, Anonymous leaked some of Trump’s voicemail messages which revealed a cosy relationship between him and members of the US liberal media.

Anonymous hackers regularly use distributed denial of service attacks (DDoS) to flood the targeted system with bogus internet traffic.
Anonymous previously declared war on Trump at the end of 2015 after the GOP frontrunner proposed to ban Muslims from entering the US. The hacktivists later claimed responsibility for taking down the website of New York’s Trump Tower.
This time the target is Trump’s Chicago site – trumpchicago.com – and the hackers are seeking worldwide support beyond the hacktivist community.
“You do not need to know how to hack to support this operation,” the Anonymous speaker in the video says, urging people to share it widely.
