Creepy, mysterious noise interrupts White House event (VIDEO, POLL)
A strange and unexplained loud noise interrupted a White House press briefing on Thursday, minutes before a group of student journalists met with the President.
Press secretary Josh Earnest was fielding questions from college journalists when a deafening droning sound started buzzing in the background.
The ear-splitting noise grew so loud that a startled Earnest had to stop mid-answer.
“That seems like a bad thing… That’s never happened before,” Earnest said, as White House staff rushed to tone things down.
The strange hubbub was most likely caused by audio feedback. However, it is conceivable that Earnest’s electric razor was the culprit, given his recent shaving insights on Twitter.
I detest shaving. Much to my wife's chagrin, I grow facial hair on vacay. Hope my next job wont req daily shaves! https://t.co/x3VaDDCLzH

Fact: I refuse to shave on AF1 during a redeye flight. So sometimes I spend a workday overseas w/ a 5 o'clock shadow. #internationalincident

Back on track and with an air of quiet, the students faced another surprise - this time in the form of President Barack Obama.
“I hear there are some hotshot journalists here,” Obama said, unexpectedly strolling out from behind the curtains of the James S. Brady press room.
As usual, #AskPressSec was fun today. It was topped only by this: https://t.co/5uAggMJMpe

Fortunately, the mystery sounds that dogged the earlier portion of the student press meeting did not return while the President was at the podium - but what on earth caused the noise?
