Forest felon: Carjacking bear found trapped in Colorado vehicle (VIDEO)
Officers in Jefferson County, Colorado were called to a very unusual breaking and entering Tuesday. A brown bear had somehow managed to climb into a car, and lock itself inside.
As the police approached, the bear can be seen moving about inside, making the officers a little nervous. The bear was only medium-sized, causing the officers to worry that its mother could be nearby.
“Deputies could tell by all the moisture on the windows that he’d clearly been inside for a while,” the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office explained on Facebook.
The bear badly damaged the inside of the car, ripping the door panels off, but the officers managed to manually open the trunk of the car.
The bear leapt free and immediately headed for the woods, leaving a very messy car behind him.
The officers were congratulated for releasing the animal without injury to man or bear on Facebook. The video has racked up close to 100,000 hits since being uploaded on Tuesday.
