It was a true “Nightmare on Elm Street” for one Halloween party in San Antonio, Texas, after one irate partygoer shot five people. Police are still looking for the suspect, who was reportedly disguised as horror film villain Freddy Krueger.
The shooting took place on Sunday morning around 5 a.m., after two men showed up uninvited to the Halloween party on Aspen Meadow, in northwestern San Antonio.
After the host asked them to leave, one of the men – described as wearing a Freddy Krueger costume – pulled out a shotgun and opened fire, injuring four men and a woman before fleeing.
Police believe alcohol played a role in the shooting, said Sergeant Jesse Salame, according to AP. The suspect remains at large, while everyone wounded in the incident has been treated and released from area hospitals.
The suspect is described as African-American, according to WOAI.
Krueger is the villain from “Nightmare on Elm Street,” Wes Craven’s 1984 genre-defining slasher horror, featuring the ghost of a disfigured child-killer who murders teenagers in their dreams.
