Anthony Rapp, who stars in “Star Trek: Discovery” and was the first to come forward and accuse actor Kevin Spacey of sexual harassment, has been subjected to abuse online following the suspension of Netflix hit series “House of Cards.”

Rapp told Buzzfeed on October 30 that Spacey made sexual advances toward him in 1986 when he was just 14 years old. The #MeToo campaign that gained traction across all social media platforms in the aftermath of the revelations about Harvey Weinstein emboldened Rapp to speak up about his experiences with Spacey which, in turn, led more than a dozen others to also accuse Spacey of harassment and sexual misconduct.

Spacey was subsequently fired from the Emmy-nominated House of Cards on November 3 and showrunners Netflix have yet to definitively decide the show's fate.

Amid the massive backlash against the two-time Oscar winner, however, there are those hardcore “House of Cards” fans who felt they were robbed of the final season of their beloved show – and turned to victim-blaming Rapp with accusations of lying and hogging attention. Rapp himself shared some of the comments.

However, Rapp was careful to highlight that while such messages of ill will were inappropriate and hurtful, the vast majority of messages he has received have been positive and supportive.
