An Ohio hospital was put on lockdown after reports of a potential active shooter situation. An "all clear" was eventually given after police searched the building floor-by-floor.

Authorities were deployed to The Cleveland Clinic - Medina Hospital in Medina, Ohio, after receiving reports that a woman was in possession of a firearm and threatening people.

The Cleveland Clinic tweeted that people were being advised against traveling to the Medina campus, adding that both the hospital and a nearby office building were on lockdown.

Local news outlet ABC 5 reported that several of its viewers shared "Code Silver" alerts received by hospital staff. "Take immediate action to protect yourself and others," it stated.

After searching the premises, police eventually gave the "all clear," according to WKYC 3. No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was taken into custody.
