A scandal rocked the Kentucky Derby when Maximum Security, the horse that came first, was disqualified and a longshot contender was declared winner. And twitterati couldn’t help but make the issue all about Donald Trump.
For the first time in 145 years “the horse who finished first in the Kentucky Derby was disqualified,” the sporting event said on its official account. Maximum Security, which has had four wins in four races of 2019, was accused of infringing on the path of several other horses and the title went to Country House, which had started the race at 65-1 odds. And its coloring happened to be more “orange” than that of others, enough to drive the twittersphere mad.
