Journalist Russ Baker is the author of “Family of Secrets”, a book which gives an insight into the Bush family. Mr. Baker spoke to RT about how powerful the clan is and how much influence it still has in the White House.

The book is full of sensational allegations, from the family’s link to the JFK assassination and the Watergate scandal, to the clan’s deep involvement with the CIA.

“[The Bush family] is relevant because first of all many of the people they put in are still in. Not just Gates, there are dozens, scores, hundreds, thousands of people that they placed throughout the government that are still there. The people in the Pentagon are not accountable to us. Many of them were put in by them. Many of the policies were instituted by them. Jeb Bush is apparently already on his way to an eventual presidential bid,” says Mr. Baker. “So, both the family is still relevant but more importantly the things that they are involved and the people who they serve – let’s say the interests they serve – are very much still running the show.”
