Former Republican US Speaker for the House Newt Gingrich has told Hotline’s On Call that he intends to officially launch a 2012 presidential campaign very soon.
"I'll be in by the 10th or 11th," he said. Gingrich confirmed his plans to Hotline’s On Call at the White House Correspondence Dinner, and according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Gingrich told supporters at a Union League in Philadelphia event that an announcement about his 2012 plans was imminent. He told everyone to keep an eye on Twitter and Facebook for details. While Gingrich has long toyed with the idea of a presidential run in 2012, even going as far as to create an exploratory committee a number of months ago, the lack of focus and organization led many to question whether he would enter the primary race. “Getting into the race would mark a comeback attempt for Gingrich, who led the Republican Party to a sweeping victory in the midterm elections of 1994,” AP reported when Gingrich formed his exploratory committee. “Gingrich rose to House speaker in 1995, but was effectively ousted by his own party four tumultuous years later.”Gingrich is also known for masterminding the US government shutdown in the mid-1990s in addition to a number of sex scandals and marital issues. “There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate,” he said in an interview with CBN’s David Brody, explaining that he cheated on his wives because he loves America. “I was doing things that were wrong.”The politician’s passion for the USA drove him to adultery; he has been married three times and divorced twice.Rumors about Gingrich’s sexual exploits and desires have floated around Washington for some time. He apparently possesses a liking for oral sex from multiple women. Coincidentally multiple women have claimed to have at some point in time been intimate with him. Odd controversies have often followed Gingrich; an attempt at the presidency will likely be marked by new ones.
