Afghan people are not served by our presence – US Congressman

The war in Afghanistan, jobs, and healthcare are all big issues in America. One man with strong opinions on all of them is US Congressman Dennis Kucinich.

“The US strategy is a strategy of a conqueror. You take the land, you take the space. You nullify the position of any opposition. Then maybe you worry about the people later on,” said Kucinich, adding, “If we really are concerned about the people of Afghanistan, we’ll stop the war, we’ll negotiate a settlement, we’ll bring our troops home. We have a higher obligation as a nation which prides itself on dedication to democratic principles. We have to live that dedication and realize that our presence in Afghanistan is not serving the people of Afghanistan.”
