The CIA contractors held for the murder of two in Pakistan refused to sign a charge sheet, insisting he had diplomatic immunity.
Raymond Davis claimed his diplomatic immunity prevented him from being charged and insisted he be resealed immediately. Pakistani attorney rejected the immunity claim, but a separate legal; hearing has been set to determine if he does hold diplomatic immunity.On January 25 Davis shot and killed two men in a car when he opened fire on them at a red light. While Pakistan has charged him with murder, the Obama administration has insisted the act was in self defense. However, thousands of protesters have descended on Karachi calling for Davis’ execution, rejecting immunity and demanding proper justice. The protestors accuse Davis of using excessive force, firing over 10 shots."It went way beyond what we define as self-defense," a senior police official told the Guardian.Pakistanis, outraged by the incident, have warned of mass riots and protests if Davis is released.
