Giant spider devours lizard in chilling footage (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

A giant spider showed up on the window of an Australian couple’s home ready to dine with them. The 12.5cm huntsman (5-inch) was in full view, devouring a gecko for its evening meal.

Melanie Ottaway photographed the massive spider and its not-so-lucky victim as it perched on a window of their Queensland home. "The gecko was already dead so I just let nature take its course and enjoy getting to see something very creepy," she told the Chinchilla News.

Huntsman spiders may not pose much of a threat to humans and are great at getting rid of cockroaches, but they are definitely terrifying to look at, as Ottaway’s pictures show. She posted the images with the caption: “Anyone hungry for some lunch.”

"We just sat down to have dinner at the dining table and noticed something massive on the glass sliding door, I got up to have a closer look and there it was, a huge huntsman with a gorgeous little gecko in his mouth,” she told The Sun.

Unlike most people who have been traumatized by Ottaway’s photographs, she has no fear of spiders and even told 7 News that she hopes it will soon have babies.

Ottaway is getting some humor out of the situation, creating a meme from her photographs.
