A Nevada highway patrol trooper went home stinking of booze after an overturned truck showered him in beer. Travis Smaka had just pulled over a suspected drunk driver when thousands of bottles of beer came hurtling across the highway towards him.
Smaka was talking to a driver pulled over for speeding on Interstate 15. Just as he asks, “You guys had anything to drink tonight?” a torrent of bottles and cans spill across the highway, drowning both him and the driver he’s questioning in alcohol.
The dashboard-cam mounted in his vehicle caught the crazy moment on camera.
Speaking to News 3 Smaka said he heard the brakes of the truck locking up, describing it as “the sound that always gets the hair on the back of my neck standing up.”
No-one was injured in the boozy incident but Smaka was left with a smell of beer off his clothes. "That was one of the funny things I was thinking about afterwards. I just picked up my uniform at the dry cleaners and then I was soaked head to toe in beer!" he said.
Meanwhile, the driver in the pulled-over car turned out not to be drunk.
