Incredible drone photo project transforms US scenes into ‘altered reality’ (PHOTOS)
A Turkish photographer — known for a spectacular drone snapping technique that turns landscapes into parallel universes similar to the image-bending film Inception — has turned his attention to the US.
Ankara-born photographer Aydin Buyuktas creates multidimensional art using a combination of aerial drone and on-the-ground photography, along with post-production slicing and dicing to manipulate landscapes and transform viewpoints.
His latest series, ‘Flatland II’’, features US landscapes as you’ve never seen them before.

American football and baseball fields, isolated homes, abandoned freeways and derelict greenhouses all feature in the series that’s designed to challenge the viewer's perception of reality.
Just one image can consist of up to two months of planning, one month of aerial drone photography and many more months of compositing, according to Buyuktas who spoke to Vice
Buyuktas has played fast and loose with the fabric of physics before — for his previous flatland project, which featured various locations in Turkey, and in a ‘Parallel Universes’ series in which he literally turned the world on its head.
