‘Dump the Trump’: Swiss company creates board game inspired by US politics
President Donald Trump has inspired a new card game that calls on players to “let go of your deepest convictions and forget what you thought you valued in life.”
Cleverclip, a Bern based startup, usually creates video content for companies, but following Trump’s election victory in November, founder Carlo Badinini wanted to explain how it happened.
"Originally, we wanted to explain how Trump could be elected to the US president,” Badini said. “But we were not satisfied with the concepts. During such brainstorming, the idea for a card game has grown.”
“Dump the Trump” is a game of mystery and deception, where players are senators, Trump, journalists, whistleblowers, attorneys and even Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Senators and journalists have to find out who Trump and his supporters are, while Trump and his supporters try to get rid of the senators.
“It was an elaborate but fun learning process," says Badini. "Developing a working concept together with the figures was already difficult. Each role must be well balanced, not too strong, not too weak. We certainly underestimated this."
