The death of Chester Bennington, lead singer of the rock band Linkin Park, has spurred outpourings of grief as fans wrestle with another apparent suicide of a musical icon.

Bennington, 41, was found dead at his Los Angeles home Thursday morning, after reportedly hanging himself. One fan described his death as “something the world needs to learn more about and understand.”
Insane Clown Posse described Bennington as an “immensely talented ninja,” sending love to his family. Band mate Mike Shinoda, who co-founded Linkin Park with Bennington, confirmed the news online, saying he was “shocked and heartbroken.”
Jimmy Kimmel described Bennington as “one of the kindest men i’ve had on my show.”
