A seven-month-old infant was pulled alive from the rubble of an earthquake on the Italian island of Ischia. Video of the dramatic rescue in the Bay of Naples shows members of the Italian fire service removing the child on Tuesday.
The boy was lost beneath the rubble after his family home was destroyed following Monday’s earthquake, which measured 4.3 on the richter scale. His two brothers were found safe under a nearby bed.
Two people were killed and 39 injured following the quake. Extensive damage was caused to buildings on the island, which is a popular destination for tourists visiting Italy’s Amalfi coast.
