About a million people in 134 towns and cities across Russia have put put on their tracksuits and trainers to run in the so-called “Cross of Nations”. The annual cross-country event started four years ago with the aim of improving the health o
People of all ages got involved, running anything from six to twelve kilometers.
Joggers could also choose to run a special “VIP-distance” of 2014 meters, dedicated to Sochi's successful bid to host the Winter Olympics in 2014.
The Cross of Nations' popularity is growing. The number of participants has doubled in just year. About half a million people took part in 2006.
