Alleged killers of Russian tourist detained in China

An investigation has been launched as the attackers are still at large. The deceased has been named as Tatyana Doronina, who together with her companion, Elena Shtanko, had travelled to China from the neighbouring Primorsky region of Russia.
Elena Shtanko has undergone emergency surgery and is to be sent back to Russia later today. It has still not been decided when Tatyana Doronina's body will be returned to Russia.
“The Chinese authorities have started investigating the case. The tourist company is resolving the problems concerning the transportation of the wounded woman and the body of the deceased to Russia. Everything is under control in the Russian General Consulate. They are in contact with Chinese law-enforcement authorities,” said Igor Agafonov at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' office in Vladivostok.
