A monument to the child victims of the Beslan school siege is being unveiled in St Petersburg. More than half of the 330 victims who died three years ago were children. The monument shows a mother holding the dead body of her child.
The opening of the site is being performed according to Orthodox tradition, with survivors of the shooting taking part.
St Petersburg is known to have contributed considerably to help victims and their families overcome the effects of the terrorist outrage, providing support and education to former Beslan students.
