Blast in Abkhazia

1 man has been reportedly killed and 2 others seriously injured when their police car exploded after hitting a land mine in the town of Gali in Georgian breakaway republic of Abkhazia. The tragedy was echoed widely in the republic.
The reaction was strenghened by the fact that it was the deputy police chief of the Gali district Otar Turnanba that was killed in the blast.The Abkhazian Interior Minister Otar Khetsia called the blast a terrorist attack conducted by Georgian security services.The Abkhazian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Shamba said the incident was connected to the current attempts by Georgia to destabilize the situation in Abkhazia.
