Chechen militants hit convoy

Four people have been killed and ten wounded in an attack on a military convoy by a group of militants in the Chechen Republic. A special operation is currently underway to catch the gunmen.

The incident took place in the Vedeno district of the republic where Russian forces had tracked down and destroyed a head of a militant group the day before.

Local authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the assault and say the situation in the district is calm.
