Badri Patarkatsishvili died on February 12 at his home in a village close to London.
The hearing into his death is on hold while toxicology tests are being carried out.
But some of Patarkatsishvili's former allies continue to believe the Georgian government is to blame.
“If you read the papers, if you watch television, the whole of Georgia points the finger at Saakashvili. They had been prosecuting Badri Patarkatsishvili. He meant well but they accused him of all the sins possible. It was not fair, it was a serious blow,” said Georgy Khaindrava, Georgian opposition leader.
