Five killed in Tambov car crash

A head-on collision has resulted in the deaths of five people.
The tragedy occurred on Thursday night in the Tambov region, some 500 kilometres south-east of Moscow, when a Volkswagen drove into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Zhiguli automobile.
The driver of the Zhiguli, along with his wife and two children, aged fourteen and five, as well as a passenger of the Volkswagen died at the scene. Three other people were taken to hospital with injuries.
