According to the republic’s Interior Ministry press service, a group of ten militants appeared to be in the forest near two of Dagestan’s villages.
In the exchange of fire, a Russian policeman was fatally wounded and died on the way to hospital. Bodies of the militants were discovered after the clash.
Other militants are reported to be on the run. According to the press service, the area of the clash has been cordoned off.
The incident follows a series of counterterrorist operations over the past few weeks to clamp down on escalating violence in the Caucasus.

They should call for air support and wipe them from the air and then finish them with infantry so instead of playing heroes theyd finish off the US backed destabilization units. More costly in money but less in lives.

@Sean Our Soros/Berezovsky, CIA/MI6 media through outlets like NED, RFE/RL,Voice of America. etc.will surely say they were civilians just like they did KLA fighters in Kosovo like Racak. I think the Dagestani people are sick to death of the Chechen led militants attacking, kidnapping, bombing murderering, torturing and ethnic cleaning especially the 2 6 weeks assaults and massacres in 99.
