Moscow hosts international rowing regatta

An international Academic Rowing Regatta is taking place in the Russian capital, adding to the City Day celebrations. The event features British rivals from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, who compete against other university teams from Moscow a
The regatta on the Moscow river also features races with canoes and kayaks, but the main event is undoubtedly the eight-man rowing race, in which the four teams are taking part. The Russian crew from the Moscow State University of Physical Education is coached by Aleksandr Lukyanov, the five-time world champion and also Olympic Champion.
There will also be a race for the Capital Cup in which crews from Moscow and St. Petersburg will take part.
