Moscow mayor opposed to gay rallies in capital

The organisers of Moscow's gay parade are waiting for a decision from the city's authorities about a request to hold a number of rallies in the capital at the beginning of May. Moscow's mayor Yury Luzhkov has repeatedly stated that he is strongly opposed
They want permission to organise 25 marches and rallies with more than 120,000 people expected to attend.
A number of requests have already been rejected.
The Orthodox Church has also made numerous objections.
